Joël van der Mijl / Drum & percussion
Joël, hailing from Alphen aan den Rijn, grew up surrounded by music and picked up the drums at the young age of ten. His family was deeply rooted in the church, where gospel music played a central role. For many years, Joël was an active part of that vibrant musical community—until he chose to trade pews for pubs, beginning a new journey performing on small stages across the Netherlands. While still playing in a solid Top 2000 band, Joël searched for more gigs and eventually joined XMB. The experience he brings to the band forms a solid foundation to elevate every song. Whether he’s playing softly with brushes or hitting hard with his signature thundersticks, Joël delivers dynamic and expressive drumming across the full spectrum. A true master of drums and percussion—a complete powerhouse on stage!
Rob Thomasse / Bass
Rob, from Hoofddorp, is packed with band experience. A true multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, drums, and piano—but it’s on the bass where he’s truly found his groove. With more than 45 years of music in his bones, he started out in bands at a young age. While his roots are firmly planted in Rock and Pop, Rob also has a deep love for Blues and Country. With a clear and down-to-earth way of communicating, he’s often the one to keep things musically on track. His years of experience shine through in the sounds the band creates.
Rob brings a big, fat groove to every performance, sending out his passion for live music with every bass note rumbling through the PA. With an open mind and a solid approach, he’s a steady force in the team. On stage, Rob not only locks in the groove but makes sure everyone’s having a great time—fully enjoying the magic of playing music together.
Xavy Martin / Vocal & Guitar
Xavy Martin, from Hoofddorp, has a deep connection with Blues and Country Blues. He started out as an electric guitarist, tearing through solos at jam sessions with raw energy. But when his kids were born, things changed, and he turned to acoustic fingerstyle guitar at home. Over time, that delicate style blended naturally with his blues roots, and eventually, he found his voice and began singing. With more than 100 songs written across different styles, Xavy always knew he’d front a band one day, creating something truly special. That vision is becoming clearer with every performance. Audiences who catch Xavy live quickly realize: there’s real talent behind those six strings.
With his big hands and long fingers, he delivers intricate, expressive guitar work rarely heard in your average pub or bar. From boom-chick country rhythms to harder rock solos or smooth, laid-back bluesy licks, Xavy loves to do it all. So get ready—when Xavy steps up, you’re in for a night of genuine guitar magic.

Xavy is a singer-songwriter based in the Netherlands, originally known as a blues guitarist. With years of playing blues from the heart, his sound has expanded to blend blues, jazz, country, pop, and folk. Call it Americana. Xavy's music features everything from country boom chick rhythms and slab guitar playing to fast open-string country licks and jazzy melodies.
His performances are full of energy and emotion, designed to entertain and connect with his audience. Whether delivering soulful blues or an upbeat country tune, Xavy’s goal is simple: to make listeners feel something and bring that sparkle to their eyes.
